My review of
Strategic Affiliate Marketing by Simon Goldschmidt et al
Edward Elgar Pub, 2003
This book was a godsend for my thesis on pay-for-performance marketing. It is the first very comprehensive overview of affiliate marketing examined in the context of online marketing as a whole.
It has strategic advice for marketers and affiliates as well, but the real strength of the book is in the piece-by-piece analysis of every aspect of affiliate marketing, from the affiliate’s, the merchant’s and the service provider’s point of view.
It’s helpful if you’re researching online marketing, and it’s helpful if you’re in the business as a merchant or affiliate and would like to learn more about what makes affiliate marketing work.
Don’t let the price scare you, this book offers real value for every single dollar you spend on it. I am a student, so i rarely buy expensive books, but this one was worth it.

Dear Kati,
I just saw your review to Simon Goldschmidt’s book. After reading that your thesis acts of the topic “pay-for-performance marketing” I wonder if it’s possible to get a copy of the thesis. I would like to introduce an affiliate program at our company and I’m still looking for really good information in order to convince our president. Unfortunately I did not find the correct information on the German market yet.
Best regards,
Birgitta

Kati,
I’m basically in the same position as Birgitta. Where can we find a copy of your thesis online or will you please send a copy of it to me?
