Now blogging in Hungarian (as well)
When I started blogging in 2001, Hungarian blogs numbered in the low 100s. I did not find a single one that I found interesting, that I would like to connect to, that I wanted to keep up with. Plus, all my Internet friends were foreigners, from across Europe and North America. Plus, all my internet activity has always been in English, websites, message boards, mailing lists, 90% of what I read and participated in was in English. Therefore, it was obvious that I would start blogging in English, and not Hungarian.
Today, the Hungarian blogosphere grew leaps and bounds from what existed back then. There are great thematic blogs, interesting lifeblogs, and lots of stuff to keep up with, link to and comment on. Therefore I decided it's time for me to connect to the home blogosphere and start blogging in Hungarian. I want to keep this English blog as well, and I am even thinking of combining the two, but that requires a redesign, which would take some time and thinking out, so for now, there are 3 blogs here, this English one, the Hungarian one and the Marketing blog (in English).

Must. Find. Time. To. Blog.
Things have been a little hectic around here recently. A quick recap of the last 2 months:
Trip to the US for two weeks in March. Los Angeles was kind of a disappointment, San Diego on the other hand a lovely surprise. I have several pages of notes in my notebook that I hope to transfer here when I find the time.
Trip to Canary Islands in April. An unexpected one-week beach vacation at the lovely island of Tenerife, I had to stand in for someone who had to cancel the trip, and had a great time despite the short notice and the fact that I went without Bence.
While beforehand I thought the trip couldn't have come at a worse time, in the end, I realized it was a godsend. After the US trip I had a few days when I figured that my business is not going anywhere and was quite depressed, fed up, and everything else in between. The one-week holiday cleared my mind completely and since I came back, business is up, things are working out much better and I am much more optimistic than I've been in the last one year. And this fuels creativity and productivity.
Now I just need to find the time to blog all my US notes and finish and launch the 2 new websites I am working on.

Expat blogs in Budapest
Recently i began finding more and more cool blogs from Hungary. For a cool taste of Budapest, visit these gems:
Pestiside which is a refreshingly fun, no-nonsense and intelligent (*) look at contemporary life in Hungary by a top journalist of the local English press
(*) which is not always the case with journalists from the Hungarian language press
Budapest and the Rest, by "a decadent dilettante, a frivolous melancholic, a lady of fashion, currently doing the expat thing in Budapest"
and there is of course jay allen, who needs no introduction this side of the blogosphere i think.

Happy Birthday Flickr!

Happy Birthday Flickr!
Uploaded to my Flickr photostream.
Flickr was launched one year ago. While i remember not being particularly impressed with the early version (because it was a completely different flickr back then), after they completely reworked the interface and tools and the general vibe of the tools, i got hooked (see my post about that here). Now, Flickr is definitely my favourite web based tool besides Google and Movable Type. Congratulations, Ludicorp!

My new camera

My new camera
Uploaded to my Flickr photostream.
Finally, i got a new digital camera! My old Casio broke about 2 months ago, and i loved it so much, i didn't even seriously consider another brand, i chose a new Casio model, the QV-R52. It's beautiful, it's unbelievably quick, and takes great photos. And it's tiny, so i can finally carry it around with me and photoblog everything i see. Yay!
